The Wellington takes its name from the first publication that served this northern Colorado community in 1905, the same year that Wellington (Colorado) incorporated.
This new incarnation of The Wellington launched in August 2007 to provide quality journalism for the growing community that is the northeastern gateway to Colorado. Situated at the junction of Interstate 25 and Colorado Highway 1, the town of Wellington (Colorado) has a population of 5,500. The print version of The Wellington is mailed to town and rural addresses in the zip code 80549, reaching more than 8,000 people.
The Wellington publishes 40 times a year. It is a sister paper of the monthly North Forty News, founded in 1993. The print version of the North Forty News is mailed to all of northern Larimer County, including Wellington (Colorado), reaching more than 40,000 people.
