Wellington (Colorado) parents in December launched a Girl Scout program for the community.
There are currently 22 scouts in Daisy, Brownie and Junior divisions. Leaders of Troop 2825 are Katie Eisenach and Jessica Glenn.
The Girls Scouts will be selling cookies through March 7. As of late January, they had made 2,463 sales. Cookies will be delivered Feb. 10. Traci Williams is the official "cookie mom" organizing sales.
The girls will go door to door around town with cookies to purchase, and they will have a sales booth at Main Street Market on Feb. 20.
In Fort Collins, they will be selling at Sam’s Club on Feb. 13 and at King Soopers on Timberline on several dates.
Proceeds will allow the girls to attend Magic Sky Ranch near Red Feather for a two-day camp this summer.
The sale event also gives them the opportunity to earn the cookie badge and the Me and My Guy badge if dad or another "guy" participates in a cookie sale booth.
In addition, the Girl Scouts are donating cookies to the Wellington Senior Center. Called "Home Town Heroes," the program accepts donations.
